Lunar New Year and a masquerade

Valentine's Day isn't the only holiday happening on Feb.14.

The Lunar New Year, celebrated in the Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures, will be celebrated from 5- 8 p.m. in the Centennial Student Union Ballroom Saturday. The event will feature food, performances, a fashion show and singing and dancing. Cost for the event is $6 for students with a Mavcard, $8 for the general public and $5 for children.

Following the Lunar New Year of the Ox performances is the masquerade ball, sponsored by Mavericks After Dark, Vietnamese Student Association and the Chicano Latin-American Student Association. The ball will be held in the ballroom from 9-11:30 p.m. and feature live music. Semi-formal or formal attire is required and free masks will be provided.
