Revive that craze for vinyl jackets, horn-rimmed sunglasses and Polka-dotted décor at the newly unveiled vintage store in downtown Mankato.
Offering a variety of Men's and Women's clothing, accessories and home décor, Kickin' Vintage appeals to those with a light wallet, offering affordable prices on classic material.
"Compared to other stores around us, we wanted to attract a younger crowd," said owner and MSU alumna Jordan Pedersen. "We are more of a fun boutique rather than an antique store."
After opening their doors in late November, store owners Pedersen and Danielle Stedman made way for a new gateway to vintage apparel. These full-time mothers first recognized their passion for collecting through e-bay. They focused their pastime within their own homes before realizing the desire for such a Boutique within the local area.
The store has items ranging from classic '50s-'70s into the sleek '80s. Pedersen said she gets most of her inspiration from thrift stores and donations.
With the outburst of vintage fashion, Pedersen said her most popular objects are the vintage T-shirts, jewelry, purses, and guys' shirts.
"We even have Vintage patterns for those looking for them," Pedersen said.
Kickin' Vintage is located on South Front Street and is open Thursday through Saturday, 12 p.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday 12p.m.-4 p.m.
