Letter to the editor: Sports Bubble referendum in 7 days

Katelynn Ogunfolami
Vice President of Student Government

On Wednesday Oct. 31, our Student Government passed a motion to allow students to participate in a referendum vote, basically we decided everyone as students has a right to vote if they want a new fee, up to 83 cents per credit capped at no more than $10 a semester for 10 years.

This fee would be to help fund the building of a new sports bubble open to be used by all students and the community. There’s going to be an open forum on Nov. 28 at 3 p.m. in CSU 253/4/5.

This forum is a chance for us as students to get more information, ask questions, or voice any concerns we may have about the fee and the bubble.

We, as Student Government, are holding this forum because we want to make sure we are all voting for what we feel is right, but also so we have the info to make an educated vote. The referendum vote will be held on Dec. 4 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at MNSU.edu/voting.

To be honest, from student to student, this is a fee that you would be paying for, so if you don’t want to pay or if you’re wanting the bubble and are willing to support it with the fee please vote.

All of our voices matter so don’t forget to vote Dec. 4! Good luck on finals y’all!
