Save the date– Dodie “dodie” Clark, a London-based indie folk pop musician, will be performing at Varsity Theater in Minneapolis Wednesday, Sept. 18.

Human Tour USA is her inaugural tour of the United States. She rose to fame with her YouTube channel, where she has amassed a loyal fanbase. On her YouTube, you can find many compilations with similar artists such as Pomplamoose, Jacob Collier, and Emma Blackberry.

Her music features a charming mixture of simple melodies and complex, emotional lyrics. Her voice itself is a fresh take on the indie folk genre, favoring a light vocal tone with deep notes of sorrow, longing, and being real. She avoids the pitfall that many modern singers fall into, where you can’t exactly understand what odd accent they’re trying to pull off.

You might recognize her songs “6/10” or “Sick of Losing Soulmates”. Her most recent release, a single entitled “Guiltless”, is probably my favorite song she has made. In the deceivingly uplifting track, she sounds somewhat like a calm, indie MARINA (formerly known as Marina and the Diamonds).

Her EP, “Human”, was self-released on Jan. 18, 2019 to positive reviews and many peak album positions.

General admission tickets are priced at $22.
