The women’s soccer team ended its winning streak this past weekend against St. Cloud State. However, the No. 4 team will look to get back on track this weekend against University of Mary Marauders and Minot State Beavers.

The game against U-Mary will be on Friday, and the Mavericks haven’t had any issues putting away the Marauders in the past.

Altogether, the Mavericks are 12-0-2 – riding a nine-game winning streak. Most of their games against U-Mary have been blowouts, with a few exceptions of a one-goal difference.

In 2017, MSU defeated U-Mary 6-0 in Mankato. If history is anything to gage on Friday’s game, it’s the Mavericks should come out on top and get its seventh win.

MSU hasn’t played Minot State as much as they have against the Marauders. However, they have had good success against the Beavers, going 4-1-3.

In 2017, the Beavers picked up its first win against the Mavericks, winning 2-1. However, Minnesota State recovered quickly and took the next two meetings.

In its first revenge game, the Mavericks pulled off an impressive 5-0 win, followed by a 1-0 win.

This season, the Mavericks have had three players who have done the bulk of the work on offense. Senior Dakota Wendell and sophomores Brynn Desens and Jenny Vetter are the three most leading scorers.

Desens has picked up five goals and six assists this season, while Wendell is right behind her with three goals and five assists. Lastly, Vetter has been a very reliable player, scoring four goals and one assist.

MSU should get back on track and regain another winning streak over the weekend on the road.
