In a world filled by cultures founded on the principles of religion, affirmed atheists are hard to come by and the stigmas attached to atheism are stronger than ever.
Nevertheless, groups like Minesota State's Campus Atheists and Agnostics are working to keep the public open to and aware of the ideology.

Kudos to you for promoting a dialogue between humanists and scientists with your opinion piece of Dec. 11, 2009. Since, to my knowledge, no one else has responded, I thought I would.
You deny that science is a search for truth. Let me recommend to you a book by John Searle entitled Mind, Language and Society.

Palestine has been officially occupied since 1948. The Israeli state was created out of nothing by the United Nations as an extension of the Zionist movement beginning in the late 19th century, and as compensation for the horrors of the Holocaust. By 1882, European Jews were already moving into Palestine and displacing the indigenous population by establishing their own settlements.

The rising cost of tuition these days is grossly affecting our quality of life as Hamline students.
Lacking any logical inclination on how to fuel state tax dollars into somewhat useful things such as education, social welfare programs and adequate housing, the state has instead left us with few decisions on how to obtain our daily necessities in this meager middle-class existence.

Bueno Días,
I'm back! It was a long, beautiful, sometimes painful trip, but I survived. I'm going to attempt to re-cap a bit but 12 days is a long trip and I'm sure many scintillating details will be left out so this doesn't become a novel-like blog entry.

It was kind of the theme of the season for the Minnesota State men's hockey team. So close but no reward. The Mavericks lost by one goal 10 times during the regular season and this weekend managed to sum up that unfortunate pattern.
St. Cloud State won games No.

Leaving the court looking up at the 83-71 score posted on the scoreboard, Minnesota State men's basketball head coach Matt Margenthaler knew that things hadn't gone their way during Sunday night's game.
The Mavericks had lost to St. Cloud State for the second time this season, but unlike last time, there will be no game following the loss.

For many at Minnesota State, snacks are what keep them going. Coffee wakes them up in the morning, candy bars tide them over when they don't have time for a meal and soda (hopefully) keeps them awake during those long lectures.
Most students never give a second thought to where these snacks come from or who is to thank for the bounty of treats available on campus.

A quick scan of the Forbes "Top 10 Most Lucrative College Majors" list, while disappointing to many an ambitious English major, shows that financial success lies in knowing about finances. An economics major came in second on the list, with the median income for zero to five years of experience being $48,100.

In March 1996, Rolling Stone dispatched David Lipsky to Bloomington, Ill., to profile David Foster Wallace, whose novel "Infinite Jest" had obtained a "miasma of hype," in Wallace's terms, "that feeds on itself." Lipsky joined Wallace for the final five days of the "Infinite Jest" book tour, but Rolling Stone scrapped the article until Wallace's suicide more than a decade later, when Lipsky sifted through the tapes from their road trip to form the basis of a National Magazine Award-winning story.

Trying to interview the Belfry was like attempting to capture and pin down a rare bird specimen only to have it struggle and flap its colorful wings. The house, the random objects, and the people that create "The Belfry" resist interpretation. The residents of the Belfry have, over the past two years, included around twenty different Macalester students.
