Dilling, a volunteer assistant coach for Minnesota State last season, finished 11th in the high jump at the USA Track & Field Olympic Trials Saturday in Eugene, Ore., with a leap of 7-02.25.
Dilling - a four-time NCAA Division II national champion and five-time All-American for MSU - represented the United States and won the 2007 Outdoor Track and Field High Jump title at last year's World Championships in Osaka, Japan.
Jesse Williams of Team Nike finished in first with a leap of 7-06.50.
MSU's Katelin Rains also competed in Eugene and no-heighted in the pole vault, failing to advance out of the preliminary round.
Wahle finished 36th in the prelims of the 200-yard backstroke at the 2008 Swimming Olympic Trials, at the Quest Center in Omaha, Neb.
Wahle finished at 2:04.71, .40 seconds shy of his personal-best time of 2:04.31, which Wahle set in June at the Mutual of Omaha Swimvitational in Omaha.
Wahle's finishing time falls short of the Olympic standard time for the 200-meter backstroke of 1:59.72.
Whale, who's entering his senior season, has been a 10-time All-American thus far during his MSU career.
Aaron Peirsol is the top-seeded swimmer heading into the semi-finals, with a time of 1:57.05.
