After losing assistant coach Austin Hansen to South Dakota State, Nigel Jenkins will be the newest assistant coach joining head coach Matt Margenthaler and the Minnesota State men's basketball team.

Jenkins graduated from North Dakota in 2002, majoring in physical education with a minor in Health, after transferring from Black Hawk East Community College.

In his two seasons for the Fighting Sioux, Jenkins was a career 48 percent shooter from behind the three-point line and shot 55.9 percent his senior season, leading the North Central Conference.

Jenkins served as a student assistant for the Sioux in 2003 and a graduate assistant the following season.

Jenkins has spent his last three seasons at Saint Mary's where he worked on recruiting, player development, camps and scouting.

Jenkins is currently finishing his master's degree from St. Mary's.
