Bringing his raw, uncensored material to Minnesota State, comedian Louis Ramey performed Wednesday night at the Centennial Student Union Ballroom.

Known for his own half hour comedy special, "Comedy Central Presents: Louis Ramey," Ramey demonstrated his skills for edgy but funny jokes.

At the start of the show he noted the recent cold he'd experienced since coming to Minnesota and claimed Mankato was "the worst place on earth to shoot a 'Girls Gone Wild' video."

Ramey's dirty routine and sound effects punctuated his performance throughout the act, with highlights including the lack of plot in porn films, how there are no sex toys for straight men and what it's like licking honey off a woman.

"His inappropriate humor is funny," said Allie Houfer, a junior social work major.

Aaron Blommer, a chemistry freshman, came to the show because a friend told him a comedian was performing. He was even more excited when he found out the comedian was Ramey.

"The sex toys jokes were the side-splitter," Blommer said.

Ramey spoke about his dream job as a DJ at a strip club, explaining they don't get enough respect, and his desire to be a politician. Ramey also commented on why terrorists would never attack Louisiana: because of all the rednecks with stacks of guns in their basements and ready pick-up trucks.

Halfway through his routine, Ramey asked the men in the audience who masturbated and a solid roar of admittance followed. Ramey then asked the same question of the women, who had a much quieter response.

At one point, during one of Ramey's jokes, a cell phone rang in the audience. Ramey cast his eyes towards the sound.

"If your phone goes off again," he said, "I'm going to shank you. You won't even see it coming."

The ripples of laughter and applause continued through the evening, as Ramey won the crowd over with his raunchy humor and slick comic timing.

The show was sponsored by Impact.
