Buisman not a finalist

Buisman, Minnesota State's director of athletics, was not named as one of the five finalists for athletic director at Northern Iowa, where he attended school.
The five finalists for the UNI job are Terry L. Wanless of Sacramento State, Barbara G. Walker of Wake Forest, Michael P. Waddell of Cincinnati, Glen Krupica of Northen Illinois and Troy A. Dannen of the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.
"It's disappointing at one level, but it's a blessing in another," Buisman told the Mankato Free Press. "My family and I are very happy here. I'm fortunate to be in a good situation, we're winding down on another exciting year for the program. I'm looking forward to joining the (Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) and continuing our success in a new conference."
Buisman has been the Mavericks director of athletics since July 2002.
