With summer days away, students will be leaving town and not worrying about what local artists will be doing with their down time. Not wanting to waste any of its talent, Minnesota State student-run Entertainment Company will use the time to better its music.
During finals week, Entertainment Company will perform a hip-hop showcase at Busters Bar at 9 p.m. May 8.
After this showcase, Co-creator of Entertainment Company James Burnett said he hopes they will be able to perform more downtown and soon go for the Twin Cities.
"We take local artists and try to get them exposure," Burnett said.
Consisting of IMAD, a Somali poet and musical artists Wize Guys, Looney Goons and U-Sity, Entertainment Company is MSU students promoting positive events for students.
"We are a positive organization trying to get our artists exposure and show people that we are very good at what we do," Burnett said.
The hip-hop showcase will be a 21+ event with a $5 cover at the door.
