Best happy hour: Tav on the Ave

Located up the hill on Madison Avenue, the Tav on the Ave has been a staple of the Mankato bar scene for almost thirty years and takes the award for Mankato’s Best Happy Hour for the third year in a row.

Founded in 1988, Tav on the Ave has made a name for itself as one of the most talked about sports bars in the Mankato area.

With their large plasma screen TVs, visitors to Tav can catch almost any game on the airwaves. For those less inclined to watch sports, Tav also offers an outdoor porch capable of seating up to 30 people in the warmer months. From the free popcorn and friendly staff, to the cold beer and delicious food, Tav on the Ave provides a fun and friendly atmosphere perfect for any occasion.

From 2-6 p.m. every Monday through Friday, visitors to Tav on the Ave can find a number of delicious appetizers for only $4, including chicken fingers, cheese curds, golden rings, and their famous super fries. For those who want an ice cold drink with their meal, Tav also offers a glass of wine for $5 as well as Coors Light and rail drinks for just $3. Tav on the Ave also hosts a late night happy hour from 9-11 p.m., offering the tavern’s renowned jumbo wings for just $0.60.

In addition to their amazing happy hour deals throughout the week, Tav also hosts a couple of other specials including Mingle Mondays—which serves a number of different roll-ups for just $6.95 each—and a Tuesday special featuring wings and fries for just $2.99 every Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tav also features an astoundingly large menu, offering a number of different burgers, sandwiches, roll-ups, and side dishes all guaranteed to whet your appetite and have you coming back for more.
