2018 Fall Fashion Show featured local brands and talent

The Fashion and Commercial Photography Club held their 2018 Fall Fashion Show this past Thursday with student performers, models, stylists, and local Mankato designers. 

Although there were many technical difficulties, the crowd was continuously entertained as student performers hit the runway. Among them were Udo Ovraiti, who performed his song “Greenlight” featuring Gency Lunch, and performers Jay and Leekthough, who got the crowd pumped and distracted with their R&B and hip-hop styles. 

Once the technical difficulties were out of the way, the show started with stylist Marissa Rucks and her models, who sported fall fashion couture with animal print coats, leather incorporated outfits, and casual streetwear. 

The next set of models that could fix any broken mirrors with their utter fabulousness, styled by Esther Okaro, were sparkling from head to toe with their sequined makeup, glittery tops and dresses, unique prints, and sparkly and radiant heels. 

Styled by Nimo Quadri, the next group of models graced the stage with their unique, aesthetically-pleasing styles. One model, who wore a black fedora wide brimmed hat, sequined black button down tucked in his salmon pants, sleek shoes, and a briefcase – fully represented the cowboy-esque, urban professional look. Other models were dressed in overalls, professional business wear, hipster styles, vests, and unique prints and hats.

Midway through the show, Maverick alumni since 2013 and fashion influencer Sadek Lunique showed up to MC the rest of the show and introduced next stylist, Grace Gobey, with her take on fall fashion. 

Grace’s models each sported a stylish fall coat, dress, boots, and heels with their street and business casual styles. The models stunned the crowd with their simple but magazine worthy looks. 

The next models to hit the catwalk showed fall fashion in a fancy spin with dapper wear, styled by Tip Top Tux of Mankato. Each model was decked in a suit enough to swoon the crowd off their feet and turn everyone into a tuxedo-sexual. 

The next set of models, styled by Aso Bella Clothing, brought a Nigerian twist to the runway with their take on fall fashion. The crowd got a taste of Nigeria as the models walked down the runway with their elegant Nigerian influenced dresses and casual button down short sleeved cuffed shirts. 

Following that was Coty Clothing, a self-taught sewer and designer who wowed the crowd with his models and unique styles – with fur coats and vests, vibrant exotic prints and a one of a kind light-up denim outfit decked out in bling and rips and tears with unique accoutrements. 

The show ended with fashion from Vagabond Village, another local shop in Mankato, who took the stage with their models who were decked out in elegant and simple styled dresses, fur coats, and heel boots. Their simple colors and style ended the show with a banger as they truly represented what fall is all about.
