Mazatlan spices up your Mexican cuisine experience

El Mazatlan Restaurant boasts monster margaritas, great service, a colorful, lively atmosphere, and a wide variety of Mexican cuisine menu items. What more can you really ask for? Located at 1525 Tullamore Street, Mazatlan has everything from fajitas and enchiladas, to carne asada and chicken with mole sauce. The restaurant even has several vegetarian items, so the restaurant has a little bit of something for everyone.

At Mazatlan, you can always start your meal off with complimentary chips and house-made salsa. The restaurant also features a full bar. Margaritas are a popular choice, and they are offered in 14 ounce, 27 ounce, and the 46 ounce “monster” size. Blended or on-the-rocks, Mazatlan has many flavors of margaritas, including strawberry, piña colada, mango, raspberry, banana, strawberry, and peach. Feel free to blend some of the flavors as well; strawberry/mango is a great combination! Mazatlan also serves imported and domestic beers, wine, and various non-alcoholic drinks, including horchata and Jarritos sodas.

When looking at the appetizer menu, Mazatlan has lots to offer. There’s guacamole, the famous white melted cheese dip (warning: it’s extremely addictive!), and various types of nachos and quesadillas, just to name a few.

A couple of the top items on the entrees menu include the crispy, flavorful carnitas and the fajitas, which come on a sizzling skillet. The fajitas can be made with shrimp, veggies, chicken, or steak, or a combination.

The restaurant also serves a number of combo platters, which are generally about $8 a plate, making them a great, affordable option for college students. Mazatlan also serves a less expensive lunch menu from Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a variety of options.

Still hungry? Mazatlan also offers an array of desserts, which include flan, chimi cheesecake, fried ice cream, sopapillas, and a fried banana burrito.

Stop in at Mazatlan Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. to try some great Mexican food. They consistently have new items on the menu, so there’s always something new to try!
