A. I am a junior.

Q. What’s your major?

A. Social Work.

Q. What’s your hometown?

A. Austin, Minnesota.

Q. Why did you choose that major?

A. I choose Social Work because I like to work with kids, and being a Social Work major makes it easier as there are so may different job opportunities in working with kids.

Q. What made you feel confident and comfortable about choosing Minnesota State University, Mankato for your college education?

A. Knowing my friends were going here is one of the first things which influenced my decision. Also knowing I would have people to hang out with, as well as the fact that the Social Work program is a good program.

Q. What has been your biggest challenge so far?

A. My biggest challenge was meeting new friends.

Q. What advice do you have for incoming freshmen, or for those who just joined MNSU?

A. My advice to incoming freshmen or transfer students is to not be afraid to talk to people in your classes. Be social and don’t confine yourself to your room. Join clubs, start volunteering and building up your resume.

Q. How do you see your career linked to the growth of the society?

A. My career is linked to the growth of society because kids are the future of our society. Also, social workers help promote social justice, work for the people and what the people of our society want.

Q. So far what has been your most memorable college experience

A. Homecoming week. The activities were a lot of fun and I had a good time at the concert until Fetty Wap didn’t show up. But the refund was nice!
