The first month of 2019 is finally coming to an end, and you know what that means? That’s right, the second month of 2019 is going to start! With that new month comes all sorts of new things to binge on Netflix, including some wild new originals.

“Velvet Buzzsaw” is the newest film from the director-actor duo of Dan Gilroy and Jake Gyllenhaal, and it looks to be in the same vein as their last hit “Nightcrawler”. The film focuses on a series of paintings created by an unknown artist. These paintings are some sort of supernatural, and cause misery to befall those who abuse them. It has been reviewed well, garnering 79 percent on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing.

In addition to “Buzzsaw”, you can enjoy the Amy Poehler produced series “Russian Doll”. Starring Natasha Lyonne, who is best known for her role as Nichols in fellow Netflix original “Orange is the New Black”, Russian Doll looks to be a sort of “Groundhog Day” inspired comedy, as it focuses on lead Nadia’s journey through a party she keeps subsequently dying at and then reliving.

Outside of originals, subscribers can look forward to two viewing two classic film series in the “Jaws” franchise and the “American Pie” films. In Jaws, a shark causes problems for local beach goers not once, not twice, not even three times, but four whole times. If you want some sharky-spooks with some dumb action towards the end of the series, check out Jaws 1 to 4 on the first. If you are looking for something with a few more giggles and less scares, you can check out the first two “American Pie” films. Following a group of teens as they try to lose their virginity before their high school graduation. The movie is considered a comedy classic and is loved by many. If you watch and enjoy the first, you can then check out its sequel afterwards, which focuses on the same friends as they try to throw the best summer party ever.

Other notable films hitting the platform include coming of age film “The Edge of Seventeen”, which stars Hailee Steinfeld and Woody Harrelson on a classic teen dramedy, “The 40 Year Old Virgin” which stars Steve Carell as well as a 40 year old virgin, and “Dolphin Tale 2”, the amazing sequel to the stellar “Dolphin Tale”, a tale about Dolphins and their tails.

While this month doesn’t hold as many releases as others typically do, the originals listed look to be winners and the new additions should keep most invested for at least the month. Like, you’re getting “Dolphin Tale 2”. What more do you people want!?
