Homecoming Lip Sync Contest tonight

Mavs have been showing their Homecoming spirit at Minnesota State University, Mankato for countless years. And since Homecoming is well underway, students have been enjoying our traditions for a few days now.

Today, we have another one of those traditions to look forward to, and this tradition has been going on for four decades.

The Homecoming Lip Sync Contest will take place tonight in the Bresnan Arena at 7 p.m. and is said to last about three hours, ending at 10 p.m.

Following the Lip Sync Contest, the results of Homecoming Royalty will be given, so be sure to stay until the end to see the peers you voted for win!

Each performance will last between four and eight minutes long, and each song will mention the state of Minnesota to show our Minnesotan pride!

The teams have already been chosen to participate and have been practicing hard to wow the crowd. Each team can win up to 200 points, and it is said that each team will win 100 points just for participating in this event. Additional points are to be given to the top three teams, as first place will win with 100, second with 75 and third with 50.

All students are welcome to join in on the fun and it is completely free! Come support your fellow students and engage in one of MNSU’s most loved Homecoming events.
