After losing to both the St. Cloud State Huskies and the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs, the Minnesota State Mavericks volleyball team have been working hard in practice and creating new game plans to prepare for their upcoming games this weekend.

On Friday, the Mavericks will travel to Wayne, Nebraska to face off against Wayne State. The last time these two teams played against each other, the Mavericks were able to take all three sets as wins.

The last 10 matchups between the Mavericks and the Wildcats were not good for MSU, going 1-9.

In the 2019 season, Wayne State has had an outstanding record. With the 13 games they’ve had thus far, the Wildcats have had one loss, which was against Northern State University. This upcoming match will be filled with surprises, and hopefully a win for the Mavericks.

The hard work will continue Saturday, when the Mavericks travel to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to take on Augustana. The last matchup between the two teams in November of 2018 resulted in a Maverick win after four sets.

The last 10 matchups between MSU and Augustana have been close, with a record of 4-6.

In their 2019 season, the Vikings have struggled with some of its matches, but for the most part, they’ve been doing well. The team has lost three games against Nebraska-Kearney, Northern State and Wayne State. With MSU having the same game record as Augustana, this matchup should be engaging for fans on both sides.

MSU has a large lineup of games this weekend and volleyball will be looking to have just as successful of a weekend as the others.
