The Minnesota State Mavericks football team has had a tremendous season, holding on to an undefeated record of 11-0. This weekend they will look to keep their 11-game win streak alive against the Colorado State University-Pueblo ThunderWolves.
MSU has played CSU-Pueblo three times. This year marks the third straight year they’ll be playing. Their first meeting was a vital game for the MSU football program – the D-II Championship game loss in 2014.
Altogether, MSU has won two of the three games. Each game has been very close, with neither team winning by no more than 13 points.
CSU-Pueblo is coming off a nine-game winning streak, bringing their record to 11-1.
Some things the Mavericks should look out for is the ThunderWolves defense. Their opponents have averaged a total of 13.3 points throughout the season. Another thing to keep an eye out for is the rushing attack by CSU. They are being led by junior D.J Penick, with a total of 824 yards this season.
MSU football has had success in the playoffs the last few years, winning at least three playoff games overall. They still seek to win their first championship and with the way they’ve played this season, they are more than capable of doing so.
MSU looks to take on CSU-Pueblo this Saturday at home. They haven’t played each other since last season, but this game will be interesting and entertaining.
