Next week, a star is coming to our college. Who is it, you might ask? Beyonce? Lady Gaga? The Dame Queen Elizabeth?

No, the Student Events Team has something much better on tap for us Mavericks. We will be treated to about an hour of comedy from none other than the gay guy in “Mean Girls”.

Daniel Franzese, the actor behind the character, has been touring lately and getting all sorts of buzz. “He is funny,” raved one viewer. “He’s gay,” exclaimed another.

If you are interested in seeing the voice of a generation perform at his peak, then you can go to mnsuevents.com to pick up your tickets. No one will be admitted without one, so go grab your tickets now before they run out.

If you’re still on the fence about going to this once in a lifetime event, I can only assume it is due to the fact that you haven’t seen “Mean Girls”, and thus do not know the legend that is Daniel.

Daniel was the shining star in a cast bolstered by actresses like Rachel McAdams and Lindsay Lohan. He had numerous memorable bits and always delivered a sassy one liner when the script called for it.

One might go as far as saying his character was the greatest of the 2000s film scene.

The campus showed “Mean Girls” this week. So if you missed your chance then I recommend renting the film however you can and getting some of that Damien goodness.

In all seriousness, this event does look to be a great one. Daniel is a legitimately funny person and his routine is very well done.

It is really nice of him to be doing this show for the students here, and if you have the chance you should go to the website and get your tickets for Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m.

I know I’ll be going.
