Once again, local coffee haven, art gallery, and musical venue the Coffee Hag has been voted the best coffee shop in the city of Mankato.

With a devotion to an inclusive environment, Coffee Hag has been recognized several times for its contributions to the community, and continues to be a safe space for people of all walks of life to gather together and enjoy great coffee, vegetarian and vegan menu items, and new local art.

In 2015, the Coffee Hag underwent an extensive remodel of both their kitchen and seating areas. While the building was largely blocked off to customers, the staff of the Coffee Hag set up an oudoor café, battling wind and bees to ensure that coffee enthusiasts of Mankato were able to get their morning fix throughout the summer.
The new renovations include more space for employees to craft quality beverages and a brand new stage for open mic nights and local band performances.

Artists such as Chastity Brown and Good Night Gold Dust have previously graced the Coffee Hag stage, and the staff are always looking to bring in new performers. A show night at the Coffee Hag is a great deal different from other musical performances, with restaurant-style seating and the smells of warm drinks in the air as people visit with one another throughout the show. This cozy family feeling is the heart and soul of the Coffee Hag—everyone is made to feel welcome at this Mankato favorite.

All coffee at this café is sourced organic and fair trade, with a staggering menu of specialized drinks for every set of taste buds. The Coffee Hag offers “Endless In House” coffee for $4.17 for those who are looking at a long to-do list, a “Mayan Sun” for anyone looking for a little cayenne kick to their morning, and even a “Morning Remedy” to get you started in the morning after a particularly rough night. During the warmer months, there is high demand for the iced coffees, smoothies, and bottled Italian sodas offered in the store.
