The Sidelines: James vs. Montes (Boxing at The Armory)

The Armory in Downtown Minneapolis hosted its second boxing show after a 45-year hiatus as Jamal “Shango” James headlined his second consecutive main event in his hometown last Friday (Aug. 8). James (24-1) knocked out Mahonry Montes (35-7-1) in the second round of the main event. But perhaps the most shocking moment of the night came when heavyweight Efe Ajagba’s opponent, Curtis Harper, walked out of the ring, seconds after touching gloves wth Ajagba.
